ASTHMATIC KITTY ARTISTS APPEAR ON SACRED HARP COMPILATION ...

The much awaited news is here. But stop hyperventilating - Sufjan Stevens does not appear to be involved as we were led to hope. I know. But it looks cool anyway.

Inder, that's so great that Sam Amidon was included on this compilation. (And so terrible that we all - except James - missed Sam when he was touring the West Coast.) And so great, again, that the Innocence Mission is on the CD, singing Africa. Do you (or anyone reading this) have the compilation, or any other recording of them doing that song?

Oh yeah, Sam's show at San Francisco's Swedish American Hall was lovely & he sang All Is Well, the title track of an album I recommend. All the arrangements are by the trendy New York post-minimalist composer Nico Muhly. (Sam was my roommate in college & we had a rock band together called "Radiohead")

There was a link at the above link to the myspace with a bunch of samples:

including Sam's song, which I've never heard. The whole project seems trés hipster: Make sure to wear your ironic trucker cap & big glasses while you listen to it. But any press is good press.
